STATEMENT OF INTENTION

As a critical component of this teaching and learning portfolio website I have created a professional engagement plan, including a skills audit to assess my Media knowledge and skills along with my understanding of the VCE Media study design and curriculum to enhance the learning of my students through uplifting my content knowledge as a pre-service teacher. As a pre-service teacher, it is becoming my emerging pedagogy that through understanding content, curriculum, skills and knowledge the ability to differentiate for all individual learners supports a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment, along with working towards APST (AITSL, 2028) Standard 2.1 and 1.5. Furthermore, as outlined by Churchill, (2022, p. 137) Australia is one of the worlds most ethnically diverse nations leading to the requirement for teachers to create learning activities and develop curriculum content that engages all learners. Aspiring to create an engaging and positive learning environment, this skills audit allows me to continue working towards multiple APST standards (AITSL, 2018) such as 3.1-3.4 planning and creating learning programs that support challenging learning goals, 2.1-2.3 knowing curriculum content and engaging in effective teaching strategies and 6.1-6.4 to engage with professional learning to improve and enhance student learning and outcomes. Many of the resources throughout this professional engagement plan support my ongoing learning as a pre-service teacher and will be constantly updated and adapted throughout my pre-service education and during my professional career as a teacher. Through the completion of professional learning and development, I wish to utilise these tools to enhance and uplift the learning of my students along with engaging in life-long learning both as a pedagogical approach but as my philosophy as a pre-service teacher.
